What We Do

Our Core Areas of Impact

DESHAFO integrates community-driven initiatives that combine Education, Mentorship, and Climate-Smart Environmental Activities and Enterprises to transform lives from the roots up. We empower children, youth, and women not only through learning and guidance, but also through sustainable livelihood opportunities such as ISSB production — creating jobs, enabling affordable housing, and promoting environmental conservation.

Education & Mentorship

Empowering the younger generation to identify their potential and academic pathways through the CBC curriculum.

Climate Action

We address climate change through integrated solutions including tree planting, environmental education, sustainable farming, and ISSB-based eco-construction. This reduces reliance on fired bricks, lowers environmental impact, and creates green livelihood opportunities for youth and women while advancing sustainable community development.

Teen Mother Support

Counselling and reintegration of teen mothers back into school and community life with dignity and care.

GRETECHI Conference

Annual flagship event each August — covering spirituality, SGBV awareness, talent development, and CBC pathways.

Climate Impact

Protecting Homabay's Environment

Climate change threatens the future of the Lake Victoria basin, but solutions must be local, practical, and sustainable. DESHAFO is empowering communities through integrated climate action — from tree planting and environmental education to ISSB production for eco-friendly construction. Through our affiliated groups — Kolamo Self Help Group, Central Ladies Self Help Group, and the Rodi-Homabay Bodaboda Group — we have trained community members in ISSB technology, enabling them to construct affordable, sustainable homes for their own members. This model reduces deforestation, lowers carbon emissions, and creates green economic opportunities, equipping youth and women to lead environmental restoration while building resilient, self-sustaining communities across the Central Ward.
