Shaping Destiny. Restoring Hope.
DEstiny SHApers FOundation — born from community, built for transformation.
DESHAFO Integrated CBO (DEstiny SHApers FOundation) was founded in 2019 as a beacon of hope in Outbram Village, Homabay County.
We are a registered non-profit organization dedicated to serving underprivileged children, youth, and women. The word "Integrated" reflects our holistic approach: we don't just tackle one issue; we address multiple dimensions of community wellbeing under one unified mission.
From education and mentorship to counselling and climate action, we walk alongside our community members to help them discover their potential and rewrite their destinies.
"We don't just give handouts; we shape destinies and restore hope from the grassroots up."
The guiding principles that drive every decision and action at DESHAFO.
To create opportunities for underprivileged children, youth, and women through education, mentorship, and climate action in Homabay County.
A community where every child, teen, and young person can identify their inbuilt potential, amplify their voice, and become a future leader.
Our work begins in Outbram Village and reaches across Homabay County and beyond.

DESHAFO Integrated School — a CBO-built educational institution serving the local community with quality, accessible learning.
The annual GRETECHI Conference is held in collaboration with MOSA Church, Homabay — a spiritual and community partnership since 2015.
Our founder is a frequent panelist on Ramogi TV & Radio and an interpreter for Girwa Radio's weekly gospel program, amplifying our message.
Beyond programs, DESHAFO has built a school — ensuring that access to quality education is a reality, not just a goal, for children in our community.
Support the SchoolTumaini — Swahili for "Hope." Our boldest step yet: two landmark buildings that will shelter the vulnerable, educate the underserved, and carry DESHAFO's mission further than ever before.
A safe, dignified residence for orphaned children and survivors of sexual and gender-based violence — providing shelter, trauma-informed counselling, and a clear pathway to healing and a stable future.
A modern three-floor teaching block that will dramatically expand our learning capacity — with a dedicated wing specially designed for children living with autism, ensuring inclusive, specialized education for every learner.
We plan to use Interlocking Stabilized Soil Blocks (ISSB) in constructing our future three-storey tuition block, which will include a dedicated autism support wing. ISSB technology uses locally available soil compressed with minimal cement to produce strong, uniform blocks that interlock, reducing the need for mortar.
This method is highly efficient because it lowers construction costs by up to 30–40%, reduces material wastage, and speeds up building time due to its interlocking design. ISSB also has strong thermal properties, keeping classrooms cooler during hot seasons and more comfortable for learners — especially important for children with autism who are sensitive to environmental conditions. Additionally, it is environmentally friendly, as it minimizes the use of fired bricks, reducing deforestation and carbon emissions.
For the community, this approach makes quality infrastructure more affordable and accessible. It will allow us to expand learning space for more students, including those with special needs who are often excluded. The construction process will also create local employment opportunities and transfer skills to youth in sustainable building techniques.
Overall, ISSB will enable us to build a cost-effective, inclusive, and environmentally responsible learning facility that can serve as a model for community-driven development.
